3 Reasons Copenhagen is Your Best Family Holiday Destination
Every year thousands of families head out to the amazing city of Copenhagen to enjoy some holiday times together. The Norwegian city has so much to offer, from excellent accommodations created specifically for families on holiday to amazing parks and more. If you have never taken your family to this very family-friendly city where summer skies seem endless, we have a handful of great reasons to try it out this year.
The Best in Family Accommodations
One of the things that our family loves about this city is how easy they make it for families to take a holiday right in the middle of the city. While I will admit that the majority of hotels are pretty much outside of our budget, the Copenhagen holiday apartments are the perfect fit for a family holiday adventure.
These are purpose-built apartments intended as short-stay rentals for families that are visiting the city. They are roomy enough to make staying for a lengthy holiday easy on the family nerves and are budget minded as well. With full kitchens and generous living rooms, as well as family suites with several bedrooms, you can live and play in Copenhagen with ease.
With the long summer days, the sun doesn’t set before eleven most nights if at all, you will love the security of these high-rise apartments when walking the neighborhoods. Farmers markets nearby will provide local fresh produce for cooking fast easy nutritious meals for the entire family. When it comes to taking a family holiday in an urban setting, it is hard to beat Copenhagen for offering it all.
Better Than Disneyland
Kids love theme parks but Tivoli Gardens in the center of the city is not only fun, it is beautiful. The park has all the usual rides, some with a bit of a modern twist. For instance, the roller coaster actually has a virtual reality option that makes it unmatched in our estimation. For the less adventurous souls there is the beauty of a boat ride on a little lake, plenty of live music to enjoy and fireworks to cap it off every evening.
Walking through the Ocean
One of the other great family attractions in the city is the aquarium, called The Blue Planet. It is known for the sheer number of walk-through tanks and the colorful fish will delight your kids. You will see everything from a very realistic rain forest complete with chomping piranhas to a huge tank of fearsome hammerhead sharks. Great for the little ones as they can wander through the tank tunnels and see right up close.
Playground and More
If your kids want something a bit more interactive, the KU.BE is the place to be. This is a playground in a building and is dubbed The House of Culture and Movement. Here kids can be kids in a safe but fun environment, with everything from mazes and slides to nets they can crawl over and across. There is a separate area for the really little wee ones and all of it is accessible by metro.
As you can see from these three examples, there is so much to see and do in Copenhagen for the entire family. So, start your plans today because the summer is just warming up.
